LaShona Nicole Wilson

Life Story

LaShona Nicole Wilson (August 7, 1984 -August 30 2008) was the closest person to me that passed away. She was an English major with me at Coppin State University and was working towards her last year. It’s so weird because I just saw her this summer and she was asking me about my trip to Italy and how she only had one more semester left until she graduated. I got the call during a class early this semester that she passed away. I was so disturbed that I could barely focus for the rest of the class. I was told that she was involved in an AV accident and died the week before classes. Its so crazy when you are used to seeing someone and then you realize that you will never see them again. And we kept planning to hang out outside of school but we never got a chance to. She was just 24 years old.
LaShona was born in Atlantic City and attended the Pleasantville Public School System until 2002. She was an amazing personality and a person that always had me laughing. I’m very sad to hear of her passing but I know that she’s in a better place. My school, Coppin State University, is currently planning memorial services and dedications for LaShona scheduled for the end of November.
